Thanks Gerhard. And you're correct, I work in layers. However, once I like a layer (like painting the hat), I merge it into the main layer. That way, as I progress, the layers do get merged. The exception is the eyes. Those are always hardest for me - so the eyes are always kept on a separate layer. It looks kind of ominous when I turn them on and off!!!
PS. I anticipate that the painting I'll submit next month had over 70 layers. That painting was daunting. |

I also love the decision to flip the image. Your processing choices really made this work. The drama of the "stampede" was well conveyed. IF possible, I would try to sharpen the eye of the gnu just a bit. Otherwise, I would not change a thing. Excellent and dynamic painting. |

Like Heidi, I saw this as an excellent "stained glass" image. I love that the structure of the trees and limbs show through the stained glass colors. The transition of colors from yellow, to orange, to blue is excellent. Well done. |

I love the creativity of this image. I, personally, like the halos around the flowers; it gives them a sense of life. I do agree with Heidi on her comment about the background. Purple and green are complementary colors; so even a dark green (subtly textured) background would add more depth to the image.
You created an excellent rendition. |
