Once again, a very beautiful bird subject. There is nothing like this where I live; so I love living vicariously through your bird sightings. I like the muted green background, as well as the diagonal line created by the transition of the brown to green background. My personal preference would be to blur the brown portion of the background; removing "some" of its detailed texture. This would create cohesion in the depth of field in the background; and better set off the bird and flower. You've created an excellent rendition. Well done. |

I've been to the Palouse twice; both times in the Spring. I truly envy your trip there during the harvesting season. The gold and brown tonalities are absolutely wonderful. Your processing choices gave this a painterly effect, which is excellent; and the border adds to its appeal. I like the image as shown; but I would also try cropping out (or painting out) the scrub grasses (green and gold) at the bottom of the frame. Then, it would seem that you took the image standing among the fields; rather than at their edges. This would also give the appearance that the fields go on and on. I did create a very rudimentary version, with the scrub, detailed, grasses cloned out. See what you prefer. |

Hi Trey.... I read the title of your image and was singing the song before I even saw that you included the lyrics! I love, love, love all the tonalities in your rendition. I would not change any of your processing choices, as they are excellent. And I truly love your awesome results. What do you think about flipping the image? I've attached a version that is flipped, and I also "copied" more of the seaweed. When it's flipped, the original ground now looks like the top of water, as the octopus floats below the water. It's, of course, a matter of personal preference; see what you like best. |
