You made an excellent choice of a background- it sets off the flowers nicely. You have always paid attention to shadowing in your paintings, and this is an excellent example of shadow mastery. I can see every nook and cranny in these blossoms. You should be so proud of this painting. It's absolutely perfect. |

The complementary tones of purple and yellow are what makes this image stand out for me. The textures on the elephants are fantastic. Your processing choices have really made this image pop. Excellent result. |

First, I want to tell you that Rick Cloran is a personal friend of mine, and he will be so happy that you loved the course you took with him. Rick is also a part of these DDG's - just look up the HDR group.
Your painting is very well done. I especially like the brush strokes on the lemon and garlic. You're doing great, and you'll get better with each painting you tackle. Keep up the good work. |

Excellent work. I love the sweep of the blossoms and love how they are set against the negative space on the left and right. I wouldn't change a thing on this one. The soft, moody feel of this image is wonderful. |

I love the bright colors and the balanced composition. This brings my eye right to the lantern and its shadow. I love that you removed the tree shadow on the right. For me personally, the cloned grass looks a little flat. So I might take a small sharp brush and add a few single blades of lighter and/or darker colored grass -just to add a bit more texture. Excellent result. |
