I love the more saturated and vibrant result that your processing gave this image. I wonder, though, what a "square" crop would look like. On the right side, I would crop just past the fly. This would cut off some of the right petal, but also eliminate a lot of the dark green. My personal preference would be for this square crop; but, see what you prefer. |

This updated version is an improvement. The white on the bottom of the left berry was drawing too much attention to that area. Now there is a nice blend of colors and tonalities; and the berries can take center stage.
I hope you got the article I asked Trey to send you. And check out the Elevate Your Art site !! |

This version is my favorite. Good choice to remove the extra tree stump/branches. The new canvas background works well, and I like its coloration of a lighter gray. The B&W interpretation of this painting lets me see all the textures and depth that this Eagle has in its feathers. Well done! |

You're right, I see now that it is another flower. But, in my opinion, it would still be better to clone it out in favor of a more consistent background. Try it both ways, and see which version you prefer. |

Congrats on selling your submission from last month. Last month I commented that I liked the more subtle image. For this month's submission, I prefer this more saturated painted result. This really pops and I am drawn to all the purple and pink tonalities. My only suggestion would be to put the lime green background color into the lower right background (between the leaf and stem). I think that this would create a more cohesive, consistent background to set off these wildflowers. Lastly, I predict you'll sell this one as well!! Excellent. |

You're learning quickly and excellently! I especially love the background that you created. You "matched" the lighting direction in this image by placing the lightest part of the background against the highlights of the berries. Your brush strokes on the subject are definitely improving. My only suggestion would be to use the mixer brush to eliminate the white areas on the berry on the left. (Either bring down some brown tonalities or bring up some of the background pastel colors). |

A great transformation. I absolutely prefer the one that is totally painted, alla prima style. You picked a great complementary background and he is blended into it well. You painted his face/skin tones perfectly. And I love how your brush strokes on his hat and jacket give such great detail and depth. Well done. |
