Thanks Martha for sending this version. My preference is FOR this version as compared to the one with the textured canvas. I love how the "history art brush" created a dream like quality to this. |

I love that you saw this image... love the resurgence of Nature around this abandoned truck. I have not used the history art brush to paint, so I will look into that concept.
I love your final result, and appreciate the canvas texture and the look it has generated. However, if the canvas texturizer was used on a separate layer, I'd also like to see it at a lesser opacity to perhaps view the history brush effects in more detail. Great painting. |

Wow... how amazing just to see this sight. Right place and right time for sure! Your mixer brush skills are wonderful. I know that painting this at 600% took a lot of time and effort. Every detail shines and enhances the overall image. I always say that I paint "every damn pixel" and you have mastered that concept. It was truly worth it. I wouldn't change one thing. Absolutely fantastic. |

A great rendition. I love your background choice, and especially where the light areas of the background were placed as compared to the subject. The strokes and textures are wonderful. I agree with you on the diagonal placement - what a great composition. Then, your painting of the subject matter brought this to a higher level. Excellent.
PS... I don't know why, but this image does not appear to be full size/full resolution. I was unable to magnify it to look closer at it.

So simple and yet so effective and wonderful. I too love the contrast of the background colors against the backlit leaves. Absolutely magical! |

I see that we both had Holiday themes in mind this month. I love your idea for a XMAS card.... very festive and eye catching. I absolutely love the cartoon setting for the background. My only minor suggestion for improvement is to fix (probably by cloning) the two notched areas on the right side of the upper leaf. Since the rest of the leaves are intact, those areas stick out just a bit for me. Other than that, great job. I'll copy that idea next year !!!!! |

Hi Angela. Since you are a PSA member you can access an article I wrote on this painting technique. It is in the February 2022 PSA Journal.... titled "Hand Painting a Photo in Photoshop." It's pretty comprehensive and details all the steps needed to get started with the mixer brushes. I hope this helps. (PS I also used to be in Group 20... a great group). |
