The DAP Golden template really did make this look like a Rembrandt or an Andrew Wyeth image. This is definitely the same color palette as a Wyeth, and I love it. I honestly would not change a thing. This painting really speaks to me. Great job. |

I love the small town feel that this image portrays. A downtown parade with crowds watching and cheering. No wonder this has been popular. I love that a lot of the detail is missing - store names, etc. This eliminates what might have made this image too busy. Instead, we can now view this image as a whole and take in the wonderful mood of a July 4 parade. Well crafted, and well done. |

Your processing choices created more depth and contrast for the five tiny buds. I love that, as now they seem to encircle and "hug" the rose. I always look for subjects with character; and the relationship of the buds with the main rose has such a great appeal. There is a tiny, tiny 6th bud on the right edge. My preference would be to close this out. Additionally, I might darken the second pink rose (also on the right edge). Then my eye would definitely be drawn to the relationship of rose and buds. Nicely done. |

There is no need to rip this apart, as it is a great image and painting. I love that your processing choices simplified the details, which to me made this a more "zen" shot than a fast action shot. I really prefer this mood over the original image. I do see what Terry is talking about with the "spray" around the body. I don't mind it, but if you wish to eliminate it, some simple cloning from the upper blue water will mitigate it. Well done. And PS, love the painted toenails. |

What a difference this new background made. Now you can see the flowers instead of them being lost in a sea of green. I love that you added a bluebell; you're right, it keeps my eye in the frame. Your mixer brush strokes are fantastic on the bluebells. The background absolutely excels, with its colorful and complementary brayer strokes. Well done. |
