Hi Trey.... you are correct... I did not level the shelf. I guess it's because the original had an upright window, so I wanted that to be square to the composition. But since I excluded the window and its frame, I should have leveled the shelf. Great catch. |

A great concept - good eye to see this composition. It is wonderful. The white balance correction you applied was an excellent choice; as was straightening the framework of the hoist. The red ropes really draw me into the front boats; especially the red bottomed one. I also love the texture that the color pencil effect gave the image. I wouldn't change a thing. Great job. |

A watercolor effect was perfect for this image, and you have really mastered the watercolor painting techniques. The white, sparse watercolor border that was given to this image sets off the subject matter nicely. I love that the colors in the images were rendered as vibrantly as the original. I wouldn't change a thing. The original arrangement won a first place at the fair, and now I'd award your painting a first place as well. |

I am envious that you have access to these wonderful animals; especially as they always seem to be in such realistic environments. I would only be able to see these animals in a zoo.
I love the texture of the background and the painting results on the animals eyes, ears, horns and mouth. I appreciate the shallower depth of field on ram's body. My preference would be to have the ram's forehead a bit sharper, though. Since the eyes, nose and ears are fairly sharp, I think a sharper forehead would make this more cohesive. You might even layer the original over this version at a very low opacity, and mask back some of the forehead's sharpness. That is the only thing I would change; you've achieved excellent results with your chosen filters and smudge tool techniques. |

Wow, what a difference from the original. Your background color, and texture, scheme was a perfect choice to allow the iridescent colors of the Nautilus to take center stage. I also commend you on the excellent shadow brushwork- the contact shadows under the shell are spot on, and I love that you also softened the shadow on the non-segmented portion of the shell interior. I can only imagine how long it took to paint all those wonderful details. You brought out the best in this image. |

I love this painting. Darkening the upper section now gives a diagonal line from color to darkness that is wonderful. It really now allows the false sunflowers to attract your attention. My absolute favorite parts of this image are the purple and yellow flowers themselves - these now have a great "Orton" feel to them, and I particularly love each of their "halos." Great image. |
