Hi Trey,
Great question. I wanted to give the composition more room to breathe. The original was cropped too closely. As for the brightness on the left. I wanted to show that this was where the directional light was coming from. With the light coming from the left, you can now see the appropriate directional highlights on the slippers and ribbons. For me, painting this image was also a lesson in creating directional highlights and shadows. |

This moody, yet serene image is wonderful. I love it. Changing out the sky was an excellent idea as it gave the image more warmth and more color. I love the watercolor feel of this and the painterly rendition you have created. I wouldn't change a thing. Great image.
AND, I did look at the IR image in Group 35. I personally like this Group 56 image much better. The color version lets me look at the receding mist and keeps my eyes moving around the image. |

The original image was stunning. And now this painted, texturized version is even better. I absolutely love all the fine details and sharpness that this version has - especially in the feathers of the bird. I love this. |

Wow, even though the trip to the zoo was less than ideal, you certainly made the best of it!!! Your image is fantastic. I especially love the sweep of the feathers in the foreground as it gives the image some movement and serves as a leading line to the flamingos eye. Love your crop, your brush strokes, the background, the frame, the high key presentation.... well, EVERYTHING. Absolutely breathtaking. |

Wow, I did not know about Amish solar power - but it makes sense. Your compositing skills, as well as the scale of all the individual components, are done to perfection. I like the "Impasto Thick Paint," especially since it does add texture to the sky. However, this composition is so well done, that I also think it would excel with "less" thick paint (I would crop out some of the sky if this were processed without the thick paint). Try both concepts - you cant go wrong. Well done! |

Your final, painted version of this image now seems to have come to life. The colors, highlights and shadows are fantastic. I also love the extra textured strokes that you added to the background. I also appreciate seeing the 3 different phases of this flower's life cycle. Your optimization choices for this image were perfectly executed. |
