I love the story that this image conveys. Your choice of cutting down the background hills and replacing the sky took this to an even higher level of the story. Those clouds and sky coloration lend an aura/halo around the elephant grouping, which is fantastic. I love the textures of the elephants and the shadows are opened nicely; I prefer these aspects over the original. Since the main elephant's head is so close to the top frame, I might crop a "bit" off the bottom to give the image more balance (but I would still aim to keep the horizon line off center). Wonderful painting. |

I love that you've transformed this marshy scene and given it an Impressionistic feel and mood. I agree with Pat; it conveys a Monet or Van Gogh inspired rendition. The sense of movement throughout the image really appeals to me. I wouldn't change a thing. Great interpretation. |

Great painting Nancy. I like the side lighting; and you know me, I pay attention to the shadows that are created. Your shadows are fantastic; especially below the front pepper and basket. I love that you paid attention to the entire background (with its Brayer strokes) and "floor". This attention to detail on the BG allowed the main subjects to take center stage. Your brush strokes on all the veggies are wonderful. My one small "nitpick" might be to paint over the white band on the beets (are those beets??). |

This has a great watercolor feel and mood. I am glad that the boardwalk in the lower left of the original is gone. The open space of water on the left now leads my eyes to the traps and then to the harbor's boats, the landscape, and back again. The water also seems to have so much more movement; the different colors really lends to that feeling of motion and flow. Love this rendition. |

A great composite Pat. And it was well worth the effort of merging four images. I love seeing all the paint strokes, which give that wonderful painterly feel. I had two very small suggestions: I agree with Trey to add more grass at the bottom so that the horses legs do not merge with the edge of the frame. The only other suggestion would be to clone out the fence post on the left side; especially since it's only one post. Excellent result. |
