Hi Pat.... I meant the man in the blue shirt on the right in the far background at the fence line... the one you called the onlooker. I can appreciate why you left him in for environmental reasons; so just see what works best to you. The man standing in the rear of the pack does not bother me.... he's the only one being smart and conserving his energy :-). |

Hi Terry. I like the right side as it is. If you crop off past the right bush, you would also lose the foggy tree line a bit. I love the one tall tree in the middle of the taller group. This might get cropped out if you crop the bush. Maybe just clone out the bush? |

A 20 year old image was granted new life; and was well worth the effort to revisit it! I absolutely love the gray, stark mood of the fog. My favorite aspect of this image is the negative space of the left third of the composition. To me, this adds to the mood and solitude of the scene. Great job. |

What a great transformation. The roadway and the skaters are handled well, and I love the "watercolor" effect you used. The details that you can see in each skater is wonderful, so this technique was perfect for this image. And, wow, looking at the original, your crop was absolutely spot on.
My attention, however, is being drawn away somewhat by the man with the blue shirt in the background. So, I attempted to clone this man out, as well as some of the signs. As always, this is just my personal preference; I do appreciate your original vision. |

I said "Wow" to this transformation when I first opened it. The painted image now has such an amazing softness; the petals really convey their delicacy. I also love the enhanced saturation of the center of the roses; they really pop. I can actually see the brush strokes in the petals of the two main roses. I hope you made note of the SIX presets you used, they generated a truly wonderful result. |

Great job on this sketching effect. I love that you eliminated the background, which allows us to focus on the baby elephant. I love that "Mom" is close by; and I agree that you do not need to see all of her. Your technique really brings out all the tonality and texture that is present..... excellent! |

Nancy, this is absolutely gorgeous. (I am actually working on the same stage in Michelle's class - charcoal). And, you are correct, this is not an easy technique to acquire. But, it looks like you are well on the way to mastery! I love the highlights in the vase and the shadows on the table. I wouldn't change a thing - this is beautiful. |
