Thank you Nancy. You are correct on all counts. I will make the suggested changes. I think I actually painted the entire flower and then cropped it after it was painted. So it should not be an issue to extend the canvas. |

I loved the crow. Very fortuitous to have him there. |

Thanks Terry. Appreciate the feedback and you are correct. That petal could indeed use a little more color. |

The sunrise colors in this image are wonderful, both in the original and the painted version. Your painting choice of DAP Azo has added more depth and mood to the image, as well as bringing out more detail and impact. And, now, I especially love that the trees seem to be swaying a bit in the early morning breeze. And I love that the crow was taking in the sunrise. Love it! |

This is a great painting. Your mixer brush skills are excellently on display. Your choice of background is wonderful and it has a nice feel to it. And, you even expertly painted in a neck on one of the sisters. I also love the combination of purple and green. I have just one minor nitpick... I would break the edge of the hair on the top left (the sister with the purple shirt). There is a line there that appears darker. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Great job. |

I can't believe that you have access to an elephant reserve! I did look at your bio, and you are in South Africa, correct? I love everything about this image, both the original and the painted version. But, to me, the painted version excels. There is now so much impact, texture and clarity in the final painted version. The rocks, elephant hides and that splashing water coming from the elephant trunks are fantastic. Great job. |

This buck now has great color and balance with the surrounding colors in the environment. Great technique and expertise on the post processing, including your Topaz choices. You were so lucky to even see this natural setting. My only suggestion for possible improvement would be to use a slight Gaussian blur on the background. With an aperture of 7.1, the background is blurred a bit already. But I think it could benefit from about another 10% or so of background blur. |

I really like this painterly treatment Pat, especially the effect on the background hills and the sky. "Someday" I hope to get to Tuscany. The wonderful "paths" in the hillside draw me into the buildings and then into the sky. Even though the building in the foreground serves as a leading line into the hillside, I don't think it adds enough compositional interest to the image. My personal preference would be to crop out the large building and then also crop from the left. (See attached crop). I think this crop sets off the buildings nicely and lends a peaceful quality to the image. What do you think? You don't have to agree, but that is why I love this group. We all have different ideas of what could make an image different. |
