I took the liberty of including "painting with light" in this month's definition. I did this image while staying in... and really just needed a break from digital painting. I promise to be back on track next month :-). |

The watercolor treatment of this original is wonderful. I agree that it brought out the curves and textures of the image.
I also love the white textured border - was this done in an "underpainting" technique? The rows of corn take my eyes constantly throughout the image. I love the peaceful, serene mood of this painting. You've brought out the best in this image through your painting and artistic choices. |

I absolutely agree that the result was "acceptable" - in fact, I'd go further and add that the result was "wonderful." To me, this now looks like a very delicate, Oriental, rice paper etching. I can honestly almost see the movement of the leaves/buds. Congratulations on a great work of art. |

I have been to this run down barn; and your wonderful interpretation has made it seem even more dilapidated. I love the process and steps you took to get to this final version; the line drawing is remarkable. The paint strokes and colors used work well here. I do agree with Terry, however, that the "texture" on the blue sky seems too strong when compared to the rest of the image. I can tell you had fun creating this painting - the result was well worth the effort. |

The purple background sets off this image nicely; it now appears cohesive with this new color palette -excellent choice. The swirls that were created with the Cezanne filter really brings out the details in the petals. You have turned the original cellphone shot into a work of art! A painting to be proud of for sure. |
