56 Dec 19 Comment I love that you even SAW this image! It's the impression of the tines that really draws me in. Your philosophy about leaving impressions on others also really resonates with me. These thoughts are what I take away from this image.
Of course, the techniques you used also brought this to another level. The textures, colors, shadows all work. How about an alternate title: The Fork in the Road ??! :-)

56 Dec 19 Comment I, too, like the blue and orange complementary colors - these colors create a very well thought-out color palette. The Alien skin filter seems to have created a "stucco" feel to the house and, concurrently, a "concrete" feel to the road. You could not have picked a more perfect texturizer. The image is very well balanced - and I appreciate this composition. IF you wanted to add a bit more drama and/or tension, you might crop this into a square format; right between the two doors, leaving only the left side of the image. What do you think? Dec 8th
56 Dec 19 Comment The rotation of the image, to where the stem enters from the diagonal was a great choice. I don't know if I would have thought of this. The lines and colors created here are wonderful, and it does come across as a very stylized drawing.
Great job. I wouldn't change a thing with the leaves and flowers. I might, however, darken down the lower left corner and the left side just a bit more to match the rest of the background.

56 Dec 19 Comment I love the oil paint strokes that this technique rendered. The textures in the ground are arch are wonderful, and the composition of foreground and trees that lead to the arch are great. The lighting is exemplary. I do agree with Nancy that cropping this would give a dramatic feel - it would look like a panoramic. However, I would not crop off as much as recommended by Nancy. My preference would be to crop only about 1/2 of what Nancy recommended. This just goes to reinforce the adage that no two "judges" will think alike and that there is never a right or wrong. I truly appreciate this scene as you have rendered it. Dec 8th
56 Dec 19 Reply The image used for the icon "Springtime Lupine" is painted. The image titled "Original 1" is painted and then a texture added. The texture was added after the painting was finished. There was no way I wanted to paint it a second time :-).

PS... I painted this before taking any lessons with Michelle Parsley. Thus, it's pretty realistic. But I do think that realistic paintings also have a place. You just have to decide which images to portray in realism versus which you want to portray Impressionalistically.

56 Dec 19 Comment This painted version is exquisite. Your painting is subtly Impressionistic, which I love. I absolutely love the Corel painting techniques and brush strokes you have used. The subtle pinks all over the painting bring my eyes right to the upper right and the beautiful large pink bouquet.
I've said before that I definitely like the mood and quality of all Corel paintings. I paint only in PS, and I can definitely tell the difference. Someday, I'd like to take the plunge into Corel.

56 Dec 19 Comment Great job. I love all the textures in her shirt and how you worked the lower edges of the shirt into the background. And, I know it's not easy to extract the subject - you did a great job. I also love the pink color choice for the background. What a change from the original. This is a painting you deserve to be proud of. Dec 8th
56 Dec 19 Reply Thanks Cyril. It is also hard for me to decide my preference as well. The image labelled "original 2" IS the original capture. The one that is the large image file for Dec is painted, without the addition of a texture. The image labelled as Original 1 is painted, with a texture added. Leave them posted as they stand now; I just wanted to clarify any confusion for other members' comments. Dec 7th
