I definitely understand what Betty and Jerry were referencing. This was one of my first attempts at a new painting technique. And the "white" portions (both in the image itself and on the borders) are supposed to be areas where the paint has not covered the entire canvas. I have to admit, though, that I do not prefer this "unpainted canvas" look either. So future paintings will most likely have "paint" that covers the entire canvas. As always, I thank this group for their honest opinions and critiques. I would have it no other way. It's how we all learn and grow. |

Peter's comment on this as an abstract is interesting, and I wonder how the image would look if you went even further with the abstract concept. My personal preference would have been to feature a section of this basket to create an unknown origin abstract image - perhaps including the stronger black lines of the basket or where the strong pattern meets the yellow-green non-patterned area. I do appreciate what your transformation has done, creating an elongated, dynamic rendition. Good job. |

Great concept and vision. I love the twirl on the flower and its duplicate version. The dolls in the center are great. I can also envision a version with 5-6 flower twirls, from small to large, each with lessening opacity, as in what you did with the two versions of the flowers. |

Great job. First, I am SO not used to seeing cars parked on the left side of the road! I love the rendition that AI Remix has created. The textures, colors and brightness in the entire image are wonderful. My eyes are absolutely drawn to the beautiful row of houses. I wonder if there is a vantage point where you can capture an image of just the row of houses. If yes, I'd go back to take that image. |

Poster edges does so much for these tomatoes and leaves. I might, however, mask out or reduce the poster edge effect on the gray portions of the backdrop and ground. They're pretty bright and lack detail; this tends to draw my eyes away from the tomatoes. On the original, the background is great... maybe just put the poster edge effect on the leaves and tomatoes. |

Excellent composite. I have a few questions: Where did you take the "weather" image? What did you do to it? Next, would you be able to explain to the group how you so expertly extract the subject matter from the background time after time?
A piece of info from Cindy as well: Nellie was struggling to find something to submit this month. Struggle well worth it!
This image is fantastic. Love the radiating lines on the background and the crow is expertly placed. On this one, I would ask for $$$$$. I wouldn't change a thing. |
