Hi Shirley,
I have hardly ever used the erase tool... I'll have to add it to my repertoire. I do most of my editing using masks as I feel that with a mask, nothing is permanently changed. Does "erasing" lose the pixels, thus making it unable to get them back? |

Hi Betty,
You did not get the wrong end of the stick!! In fact, I tried reworking the image as you suggested; starting with the textured layer all over and masking it to bring back the barn and vegetation. This works to bring more saturation to the image, which is better than what I have posted. Thanks for the suggestions. |

It's an interesting question on the use of the border. I love the idea of a border, and I don't mind that the border touches the top and bottom of the subject matter. However, I feel that the colors are off, somewhat. I usually "pick" a color that appears in the image. And, even though you do have a small drop shadow, I personally feel it could use more. I haven't used this border technique in a while, but I did try and create what I am writing about, and my version of a border is attached. (The gray color of the mat was selected from the image. I tried to use a darker blue color, but then the drop shadow was not as effective). And, PS, I will send you the instructions of how this was done... in case you want to use it on future images.
So, I guess to answer your question, borders enhance the image but my personal opinion was that these border colors did not match, and therefore were an overall negative element. |

A composite pulled together very well; even though I am not familiar with the reference to mythology. The lighting matches; and I love the shadow to the right of the model, overlapping the nest. I know that you added shadows to the model; I wonder if more shadows are needed to match the dark, moody woods. Great concept. And it's amazing that you had all the parts - although the eggs for breakfast or lunch would have been easy for me. |

The duo tone application is what makes this image stand out for me. I love that the image goes gently from golds to blues. The duo tone also now makes this seem more dimensional and gives it great depth. And with the jagged pattern "points" now oriented upwards, my eye travels the entire length of the lamp. Well done.

"Inverting" the selected Coliseum, and adding poster edges, gave it a more ancient and gritty feel than the original. I definitely like this gritty feel. This is a tough image to know what it straight, but you did a good job figuring it out. In this case, the image needed people so that you could tell that the Coliseum is at a slant. I'm going to use the poster edge "multiple application" in the future. |

In the original, I could tell that this was a bonfire. I now like it that the creative version is more abstract, letting you imagine about the subject matter. The brilliant colors in the foreground and the muted colors in the top half of the image are wonderful. I now see many compositions that can be created from this one image. Great job. |

I love what the oil paint filter has done for this old stone structure. The lighting through the arch is wonderful, and seems to come alive. In a perfect world, I would have liked to take this without the woman in the foreground, but it does tell the story of this visited place. The stained glass filter for the "frame" was a genius touch. |

I love that the shoes and roses are now highlighted against the monochromatic fans. The vignette on the background also draws your eyes to the subject matter. Very, very well composed. Great job.
You are indeed the "shoe lady." I thought I was the shoe lady with my images of ballet slippers, but you outpace me!!! And you have so many shoes to choose from. They're all great.
