I like the concept of adding skies as an overlay and then masking out at various opacities. So this definitely works and it can suit many different types of images. For this image, I would have reduced the mist on the castle towers so that it appeared as if the towers were coming out of a clearing mist. The castle is in a perfect position to have it stand out more clearly and distinctly. |

So simple yet so effective. I like the monochromatic treatment as now I look at the light and texture in the image rather than the colors that would have been present. The lighting and shadows on the bench are fantastic. My personal preference would have been to "maybe" crop from the bottom, where the grasses have a vertical texture rather than the horizontal texture of the path. |

What a perfect match of two seemingly disjointed subjects. Great image. And I agree with the concept of erasing the poster edge effect from the shoes and cat. This draws your eye right to these objects. I also agree with your assessment to angle the cat to allow more room between the cat and shoe tip. I love how the cat's back has the same curvature as the sole of the shoe; so I would not want to lose that by re-positioning the cat. |

You had better take shots of that old typewriter. They are now so hard to find. I AM trying to think of a good way to incorporate shoes with the typewriter :-). |

This has now been rendered so dramatic! Great job. Before, it was a nice scene, but now the drama is fantastic. I love what this effect did to the buildings... even though they're in the background, now they don't fade into the image. Your eye travels right from the boats, to the buildings, to the sky. |

I very much like the idea of this poster effect. And I also like Betty's idea of adding a drop shadow to the words. I like that the fog blends seamlessly with the sky. |

EEk... and the flipping it and making it more symmetrical made it even spookier !! |
