I learned something. I did not know that. And a judge, in a competition, may take exception to such creative license. |

I can see why you were attracted to this iron gate. The intricate details, patterns and colors are great. And those shadows enhance its depth and dimension and makes it seem to jump out of its framework. Giving the image a sense of place by also including the source of the iron work was genius. |

I love this image. Even though the greens are less enhanced, their detail is wonderful, especially the greens near the bottom of the frame. The tulip seems to glow and becomes very lifelike and three dimensional. Lastly, the exquisite vignette lets you take in the effect of the greenery and then your eye is drawn to all the wonderful details in the tulip.

I like the detail that this effect brought out of the bottle brush; especially the ends of the needles and the fine lines in the body of the brush. I wonder if rotating it to create a vertical would have made it stronger. Then there would be a "bed" of green on the bottom and then that wonderful "green hat" would come out of the top of the bottle brush. This would also produce a gradient of color, from green at the bottom to red at the top. |

The original image does not seem "busy" but the artistic image is a whirlwind of color and movement.... and it absolutely works!!! The swirling colors of green and purple are fantastic. Excellent use of the Impression plugin. |

I love the concept of this image. And the texture you used enhanced the overall feel and mood. I love the faded, dusty feel of the trees on the left. However, the trees on the right bother me some. The big branch seems to come from nowhere and is definitely out of place. I think you either need to continue to expose the branch towards the sky or clone in some greenery to remove or lessen the branch's visibility. Other than that small issue, I agree with Peter and Nancy that this was an impressive image. Well done. |
