Al - to me the image is not sharp. I don't know if it is just me and I need a cataract operation or if others see it too. I do like the composition with the bench off to the left but a little cropping and removal of the debris in the lower right may improve it. |

I love animal images and this one is a very sharp reproduction of the elephant. The background treatment is well done. My feeling is that there is a picture within the picture and so I cropped the elephant to hone in on, what I believe, is a better picture. I would have cropped even further but then I would have trimmed his ear. |

Shirley, I think you did a great job with the post processing and the image is greatly enhanced over the original. It is a very interesting scene and I love the way the clouds turned out - you can almost imagine that you are there. The only thing negative is the ultra bright frame which distracts my eye a great deal. I tried darkening the border and that didn't quite make it. Then I reduced the frame area and that seems, to my eye, work better. |

Hung: This is a good capture but only of a moment in time. I think that it suffers from a couple of things detrimental for a competition win. The background is far too cluttered with people, cars and buildings but, mainly the cyclo is cut off. I have lots of that type of image but it, unfortunately, doesn't work for anyone but me. |

Gary: Real neat capture of a scene that we just don't see down here in South Florida. Very interesting ice display and the leaf is right at the 1/3 vertical and horizontal intersection. I felt that the leaf was a little dull and so I saturated it a little and enhanced the background by adding a little more contrast. Nice job on the composition. |

What a great image. Wonderful composition capturing the soulful expression of the young child. However, there are two things that I think might improve the image further and I await the opinions of the others to confirm or deny. First, the rope is a little distracting so I removed it in my example - or may it should just be darkened since it is too bright. Secondly, the light wall should also be darkened since the eye is drawn to the light areas (also shown in my example). |
