This is a great image. It is sharp, the bokeh is great, and the pose of the iguana is perfect. With all that said, perhaps a crop of an inch or so from the top may intensify the image. Nice job, Malabika. |

Nice back-lit shot of the owl. The face appears to be almost in focus but the focal plane is the branch just below the wing on the right side. I agree that darkening the background may help as would a catchlight in the bird's eye. I took many shots of birds of prey when I saw a similar show in Australia's outback last year. None were competition-worthy and it's a hard job getting any really good images given the circumstances of not being able to control the position of the photographer, the light, etc. |

I like this shot, Gary. I concur with Shirley's interpretation with the exception that I think that the tree on the left should be removed and then a slight crop of the left and bottom. If the names scratched into the cliff face adds character to the shot, then leave them. I hope you don't mind seeing my submission of your work, but I had spare time this morning. I must practice waterfall shots myself - I have not been successful to date. Good work, Gary. |

Lovely shot of the boy caught at the right time. Perhaps some vignetting might remove the background clutter which would then focus even more attention on the boy. Shame that his feet were not fully in the image but a really nice image just the same. |

Beautiful shot of the tulip. The pistil is sharp and the colors of the petals spectacular. I might try and remove/blacken the background bottom left and halfway up on the right - but that's just me wanting to see an all black background. I like the way the pistil is at one of the rule of thirds intersections and the rest of the flower is framed well. My only regret is the the ed petal is not as sharp as the pistil, but I understand depth of field. Great work, Shirley. |
