Joan, Thank you for your kind words which are much appreciated. In the current climate of self isolation and social distancing, the book is providing excellent therapy. |

Peter, Thank you for your kind words which are much appreciated. I thought about using a Masonic eye but erred on the side of a more generic eye to make the image more appealing and all embracing. |

Peter, Your iteration works better. The additional space between tree and rock makes all the difference. |

Peter, Looking again at the variation above, it seems a bit foreground heavy. I have attached a further cropped version to return to the landscape format. |

Barrie, I like the graphic simplicity of your image created by the posterize effect. The line drawing result is quite appealing. I wonder if it would work better with fewer elements in the picture; perhaps the foreground glacier, the tree and the larger boulder. I have taken the liberty of attaching a cropped version to give a flavour of what I mean. |

Phillipa, I like the technique you have used to stack backlit ferns on top of each other and then to apply the Zoom Blur effect but leaving the central area sharp. The limited colour palette works well as there is no confusion within the subject or with its background. I can see various things in your picture, eg a cockerel's head showing its plumage and the beaks of a squid. The sharp area of your picture is rather central in the frame which makes for a visually static picture. In order to increase the overall visual dynamic, an off-centre placement is preferable. It is a pity also that there is a straight edge in the bottom left hand corner which tends to draw the eye. I have taken the liberty to include a cropped version to show what I mean. |

Steve, I like the graphic, futuristic effect that you have achieved in your image. When I first saw it, I was reminded of a transformer toy where one shape (in this case the train) morphs into another (in this case an alien being from outer space). The transformation of the original doors, windows and graffiti into eyes, nose and chin of the alien works well. |

Peter, I like what you have done to this image. The Black and White conversion and preset to infrared works very well. The blurred panning effect that you have created enhances the overall visual story and gives the image a sense of movement and urgency. I would like to have seen a little more of the lead horse's right front leg and the second horse's left front leg. |

Joan, It sounds as though you had a lot of fun creating this image from the various elements. I quite like the way that the gargoyle is protecting the British(?) bulldog, neither of whom are the best of lookers. I also like the way that there is a pink highlight in the dog's right eye which creates an interesting focal point. Once seen, it cannot be ignored. |

Angela, Thank you for your kinds words which are much appreciated. I find that ideas are all around us and are usually triggered by a sight, sound, smell, memory or whatever.
This image will be included in our second book 'Behind The Mask' which is a fusion of poetry and photography. It will feature on the right hand page and face the following poem on the left hand page.
Big brother, eye in the sky
All seeing, all dancing
Eagle eye, ever watchful
Forever scanning, misses nothing
Glasses, stems, everywhere
Equilibrium in the breeze
Empty vessels, six in a stack
Blurred in the mist of time
We are hoping that the book will be published in time for Christmas.

Mark, Thank you for your kind words which are much appreciated. You make a good point about the size of the eye. |
