21 Dec 19 Reply Joan, Thank you for your kind words. I agree with you that the light streak does tend to draw the eye. Before submitting the image this month, I tried to tone it down but it didn't quite work as I would have liked. Therefore, I left it in as there were other light streaks in the composite. However, for your information, I have attached a toned down version. Dec 29th
21 Dec 19 Reply Steve, Thank you for your kind words. I have attached for your information, the original composite which is a sandwich of the two original images. Dec 29th

21 Dec 19 Comment Peter, You have created a very poignant and evocative image that speaks volumes about those times. I particularly like the visual disconnect between the officer and his men, who is marching on completely oblivious to the carnage behind him. The monochrome version with sepia toning and granular treatment works well and gives the image a sense of historical perspective. I wish you a Very Happy New Year and all you would wish yourself in 2020. Dec 29th
21 Dec 19 Comment Steve, You have certainly created an image that is spectacularly colour saturated and creative. Like Joan, I am not familiar with the Apps you have used to work on your image but my philosophy has always been 'An image is an image is an image'. How it is created is of secondary importance. I like the twirl effect that you have created but for me the centre of the twirl is too central in the frame which makes for a visually static picture. I have taken the liberty of cropping a little off the left hand edge to place the central point more off-centre and thereby increase the overall visual dynamic. I wish you a Very Happy New Year and all you would wish yourself in 2020. Dec 29th
21 Dec 19 Comment Phillipa, This is a truly lovely image which I like very much. The irises are so delicate, beautifully recorded and arranged on the diagonal to enhance the overall compositional strength. The yellows and the near-blues complement themselves so well. The softness of the musical score in the background and the overlaid texture adds a wonderful romance to the composite and the way you have blended the background in respect to the irises is masterly. Congratulations and very well done! I wish you a Very Happy New Year and all you would wish yourself in 2020. Dec 29th
21 Dec 19 Comment Joan, This is a lovely image that is full of vibrant saturated colours. I am a fan of the Fractalius filter which creates a similar effect to Topaz Glow 2. I particularly like the way that the waxwing is not affected by the filter and seems to be perched above and outside the effect. Compositionally, the bird is perfectly placed on the third and looking into the picture. Well done. Dec 13th
