John, Your use of the Painter Filter effect has worked well to add to the overall aesthetic of the subject. I like the tactile quality that you have achieved particularly on the building and the boundary wall. The blurred figures add a sense of mystery. The texture of the foreground leads the eye nicely towards the main subject. As a photographer 'Who doesn't do sharp', it will come as no surprise that I quite like this image. |

Barrie, The Swirl Filter has added a new dynamic to the image which I find quite appealing. It is almost like looking into water disappearing down a plug-hole. Compositionally, I like the way that the single trees on the left and right hand sides of the frame provide a visual blocker to prevent the viewer wandering out of the picture. I also like the texture in the blue ground at the top and in the green foreground. |

Joan, You have photographed an old artefact and added some humour to raise the image to a new level. This works well and draws the viewer in to the visual story. The image is symmetrical which reduces the overall visual dynamic. However, in this case, this is broken by the addition of the white teeth which adds a human dimension to the composition. |
