John, This kaleidoscope effect works well and creates an image with an added visual dynamic. It is nicely sharp and the colours are beautifully saturated. The choice of subject is a good one and I particularly like the triangle shape that you have produced in the centre of the image. I like the yellow rhomboid shapes which creates the illusion of eyes. I would be inclined to lose the labels in the top left and top right corners. |

Ojars, I like the way that you see things in the environment and give them human resonance. The saturated defraction colours transformed into the balloon shapes works well and these contrast well with the juxtaposed subtle horizontally panned colours in the background. Your transition of the eucalyptus bark into human forms in their baskets is a master stroke. It is interesting that you placed the child balloon in front of the parent balloon as I see this as the child following the parent as they pass left-to-right through the field of view. |

Nancy, You have used your brush technique very well to create an image with immediate impact. The image is beautifully sharp and the colours are perfectly saturated. Compositionally, it is very strong with a good left-to-right flow through the picture. I quite like your application of the brush strokes which creates a good sense of dynamism and movement. However, I would be inclined to remove the brush strokes behind the girl's thighs and soften those behind the girl's head. Initially, I didn't notice the low opacity football in the background but once seen I found that it added to the overall visual story. I might be inclined to add a touch of motion blur on the soccer ball in the lower right hand quadrant. Well done. |

Alan, I can identify with this image much more than your previous submissions. I warm to the idea of a frame within a frame within a frame which works for me. I like the way that the three main characters are looking into a frame, two of whom appear within the frames and each of which would be an image in its own right. I like the way that the shadows fall on the ground to create a visual disconnect with the reality. I also like the way that the figures do not cast shadows which creates its own visual dynamic. Unlike your previous offering with the bird flying into the frame, in this case I quite like the train in the distance breaking into the picture. It is there but it is not dominant in the frame. Overall, this is a composite which I find quite relaxing. Well done. |

Barrie, This image has a certain appeal. I like the way that the solarisation effect has limited the colours to browns and blues. The graduated background works well and creates added interest. The model's shadow makes me want to see more of it. It would have been good to have the model placed in the upper left quadrant and her full shadow in the lower right quadrant. I played around with the Transform Tool to slightly stretch the image vertically and that produced a pleasing dynamic. |

Joan, The disparate elements in this picture hang together well and create a believable surreal abstract. The chequerboard base provides the theatre backdrop against which all the constituent parts play. I particularly like the left-to-right leaning and visual flow in the picture, and the lime green sky. Well done. |
