The painting strokes, color, and simplification of the background make this a lovely painting. Clever of you to let us see the tree through the window of the car. But I think that if you lighten or blur the tree a bit, it will look more like it is behind the car; to my eye, it seems to be growing out of the car. Also. because the area under the car has the same color and brush strokes as the background, the car seems to be floating in the air or maybe on top of the water. Just my thoughts on how to improve an already excellent painting. |

Wild and wonderful! Your colors and painting technique really convey the energy of the race. I'm just a bit bothered by the red on her face. To my eye, it's somewhat of a distraction.
We'd love to see your bio, Terry. |

I love the brilliant colors and the textured feathers. The slightly textured background helps make this a more interesting painting. Nice work, Gerhard.

Nancy, this is terrific! If possible, could you explain how adding a blank layer helps reveal the "holes." I always have trouble finding the difference between painted and unpainted pixels.
Congratulations from me, too. |

A beautiful painting, Cyril. I agree with the others about the composition and cropping the foreground. But I would like to see a different treatment of the water so that it looks more water-like and contrasts with the rendition of the foliage. |

Thank you Cyril and Cindy. Actually, the flowers were amazingly easy to do. I painted a semicircle using two shades of pink. Then I added a dab of a darker color in the center.I didn't fuss with trying to make them very realistic.
A painting teacher told us to always add some light color to a window, rather than making it black. |
