I appreciate your compliments on my painting, Nancy. I'm glad to know you're experienced with Painter, so you won't mind if I ask you questions about it from time to time. |

Thanks, Gerhard. You and the others in this group have been very encouraging. There are a multitude of options in Painter, but I have not yet learned to take advantage of them. |

Welcome, again, Lisette. The colors are lovely and the treatment of the sky is especially nice. The blurring of the sand is fine, but note that in the rocks, some areas of sharp detail are visible; this interferes with the effect you want to create. |

The grays, blues, the painterly strokes, and the large bokeh areas make this a gorgeous painting, Nancy. I agree with Pat about the placement of the branches. |

Great work in combining the two subjects, even allowing the "spaceship" to show through the railings and smearing the lettering on the car so it's not evident it is flipped. I have a challenge for you: How about removing the steps and legs from the house and letting it hover over the car?! |

The scene is magnificent with those glorious red rocks, and placing the rider in the center is effective in this composition. I agree with Pat about the distracting shadow on the left. I don't get the feeling that this is a painting as I couldn't see much difference between it and the original photo. |

Thanks, Pat. I think you're right about doing a tighter cropping. |

Thanks for your comments and your interesting suggestion, Lisette. I'll have to experiment to see if there is a way to make the petals more translucent. Corel Painter is the benchmark program for digital painting-- and it has a learning curve as awesome as Photoshop's. I'm working hard to master some of the basics. |
