A lovely scene. I agree with Gerhard that I'd like to see a less realistic-- and more painterly-- effect in the foreground. |

Much better, but I'd still like to see more detail in his face, hands, and rod so that his shirt doesn't dominate the painting. It's good that you toned down the yellow thing on the left so that it isn't a distraction. Great composition, Kathy! |

My suggestion would be to give more tonal separation between the foreground and background rocks. This would give the image more dimensionality and would make the location of the tree more understandable. The colors and rendering of the rocks and tree are very pleasing. |

I like the color you added to the water, making it more realistic than in the original, where it looks like cement. However, the entire painting seems too blurry for my taste. |

Gerhard, your painting style works extremely well with this image. I can almost feel the fur on the lion's head and body. I agree with Cyril about the burned out highlights. Other than that, well done. |
