Tom,I love the cropping and the dramatic color. I'm bothered, though, by the blobs of color on her arm. Otherwise, it's certainly an effective painting. |

Thank you, Nancy. Please continue using Painter and perhaps we can help each other out. I like the fact that you can mix paints, just like in real painting. My biggest problem at the moment is finding brushes that work the way I want them to. |

Thanks, Pat. I'll work on it and add a bit deeper color in the background rather than making is stark white. |

Beautiful painting, Gerhard. In addition to adding a bit of background, I suggest you add a subtle shadow so the lovely flower doesn't seem to float in the air. |

Your color enhancements and removal of the distractions certainly help make this an effective picture. I agree that pasting in another sky would make it even better. Also, how about cropping it a bit from the left so the bridge is not so centered? |

Flipping the image of the man definitely improves the composition of this very well-done painting. |

This really glows and is more impressive as a painting than the original photograph. Beautifully done, Cyril. |

Thank you, Cyril. I'm sorry I didn't paste this description into my submission. Here is how I did it:
White Lily
How I Did It
I am intrigued and challenged by making a basically white-on-white, high-key painting. I cropped and did some basic enhancements in Photoshop before opening the photo in Corel Painter. I worked with several of the painting brushes as well as blender brushes. I'm trying to learn how to use Painter and I welcome any help you artists can give me. |
