Anything has a less steep learning curve than Painter! I have no experience using ArtRage, but because of Angela's enthusiasm for it, I'm going to try working with it.

Beautifully done, Gloria. I've seen many watercolor paintings that have a "controlled" rendition, but generally I prefer the looser approach. |

Gerhard, your use of color has turned a dull photo into a dynamic work of art. Terrific job. |

The steam effect is amazing, as are the colors and the expression on her face. I'm agreeing with Tom in that I don't understand the red area between her legs. It looks to me like a piece of fabric hanging from her back. But every viewer interprets things differently, and that's what makes this group so dynamic. |

Well done, Tom, with nice brushwork and application of color. I agree that the revision makes a more pleasing painting. One more suggestion would be to lighten the dark area at the top of the background and darken the lower part so the trike doesn't seem to float.
Gloria said that blue and yellow are complimentary colors. If you consult a color wheel, you can see that orange is the compliment of blue, and purple is the compliment of yellow. Including a bit of a complimentary color can make the predominate color "pop." I think that is what you intended with the orange background, but it was too extensive and called too much attention to itself. |

Thanks for the good suggestions, Angela. I played around with ArtRage and was delighted with what it did. |
