Great catch! Sounds as if you were very patient to wait for the flight. I like the blurred background but might have a tendency to darken the light part of the background or blur it more. You could also try changing the background to a more muted or less contrasty scene? Wonderful capture of the egret. |

I agree with Jim, great shot for a phone camera. I like the colors and the rugged look of the stones, as well as the water. I agree with Deborah, might consider cropping the sky out, brings the focus more on the water, but I would leave that lower water run at the bottom. Could you imagine instead of water, having lava flow, which is what the stones look like!! Nice catch. |

I like your crop and the silhouettes are quite nice. Either way about the colors for me, both would work. |

I appreciate each of your comments, and yes, Deb, a polarizer might have corrected the white water a little. I agree with Deborah's comment about bringing up the saturation, and I might try to selectively increase the contrast. However, right now I am having computer issues and PS issues, and am not able to access the program, so these changes will have to wait a while. I do appreciate the input, and Jim, I usually do shoot a scene using f-8 to f-11 and am not sure of my thinking (I probably failed to notice the f-stop when setting up for this image) about the f-stop. Thank you each for your reflective comments. |

Sounds like a fun event. I like the exposure, the placement of the subject, and the view of the surrounding natural elements. |

What a compelling photo! I love the fact that the goldenrod are in sharp focus and lead the eye into the image. Did you try flipping it so that the lead-in is from the left? There is a lot to examine in this shot, and the old fence is one of them. I would tend to move over to the left just a little so that the old cabin and fence were more the subject instead of the wildflowers. However, this image is compelling in its own way. Perhaps because of the sharp flowers in the front, I have the feeling of being right there in the image! |
