Thank you Jim. I agree with your evaluation, and feel that I was a little sloppy with allowing the green leaf to be so prominent. |

Your story made this image make sense. Thanks. Normally I want to make eye contact with the animal. I like all of the above suggestions.

Ah, one of those pictures that I could come back and visit many times! Lovely! At first look, I wondered why you placed the center of the blossom in the center of the image, but returning to it several times, I realize that it fits just fine in the center! I like the shades of white, gray, and pale pastels. |

What a nice composition for a simple shot. I don't care for the color combination, but see much potential for a similar shot. Very creative! |

Nice patience on your part Deb, waiting for the bird to have activity. The bird details are very nice. I agree with the others about background distractions. Sometimes it's almost impossible not to have those when shooting wildlife, I know. A quick idea might be to add some darkness around the edges and corners of the image, but the stick that is most distracting would still be there. Another possible solution would be to clone out the distractions on the right of the bird, but that might be a lot of work. GBH's are so majestic!

converting this to b&w made a huge difference as well as removing the background distractions. You might consider keeping the color on the child. Yes, being present for the GRANDS events is a special part of being a GRAND! Well-captured and I like your treatment. |
