Wonderful shot Steve and it sounds as if you simply took advantage of being there at the right time. Cropped or not, both make a good picture. The only thing that my eyes react to is that the line of lights are not horizon level. I understand why, and the building on the right is vertically straight, but my eyes want to change the lights to be horizontally straight too. I realize that would alter the scene, and I'm not even sure it could be done. That is a flaw I have sometimes when looking at images. I sort of like having all that sky above that has different colors and the one faintly seen bird flying. |

I love the softness, the subtle shading, and of course the color of this rose. Well-done. Nice crop, except I would have a tendency to add a tad of oof bk ground on the left side or crop out just a bit more there.......away from the edge. |

Deborah, you put us all to shame, how easily you seem to use filters and change backgrounds! What a wonderful image you ended up with. I like the added room on the right of Larry's re-do, but think the original is ok, maybe a little crop at top depending on how you feel about it........could go either way. You have a good way of 'fixing' problems to improve the image. Another nice one! |

Ah, quietly proud, and what nice looking vegetables! Most of all I really like his expression. I might have a tendency to replace the background with something less eye-catching, but a great shot. |

Thanks for the suggestion Kathy. I can see what you mean, and it would simplify the image a good bit. |

Thanks Deborah for the idea, and yes, I agree. One of the reasons I took this mostly out of focus image was to remind myself of the fact that everything was blooming in the field at once. It would have been nice to have had a greater dof, but the wind would not allow it. Thanks for your response. |

I like the composition, movement within the frame, and the windmill in the background. I wonder what it would look like if you selected the subject and just painted the bk. ground. I do understand wanting to try new things but have not been brave enough to attempt this one yet. |
