Yes, water is almost always peaceful, and as a photographer, I also am drawn to water scenes. I like your image just as it is, and the only suggestion would be to see if lightening the mid-tones of that second still pool just above the rocks and just below the grass might bring out some of the details in the reflections. Might or might not add to the picture. Nice depth, natural-looking colors and ah, so peaceful. |

I agree with Kathy, and the sway of the purple blossoms adds movement. Nice save, and I enjoy your framing. |

I like the before image better than the after. Perhaps it's because of the darker background, giving more contrast? I think the snow falling in the original is nice and perhaps gives the image the feeling of coldness? In your edited image, you might consider selectively darkening the background behind the globes? Interesting image to work with for sure. |

You removed that top line, which I think is an improvement. |

I don't know how you accomplished this, but IMHO, it doesn't get any better than this shot! Well-done Colleen! |

Smart shot, to look the other direction. I love the simplicity of this shot and all of the lines and boxes. Nice post-processing too, and not over-cooked (which I have a tendency to do). I tried cropping the image to just below the uppermost horizontal line and found that it brought the other set of horizontal lines about to the upper third of the image, which removed the pull toward the top of the image. I like the muted colors and minimalistic presentation. Who would have thought to find this abstract in a parking garage!! You have given me some ideas for my own shooting! |

Wow, wonderful exposure, colors and details on the bird. Lucky you to be this close and to be able to have lighting to shoot at such a fast speed! I find the post in front of the bird some distracting, but my, what a shot! You might consider a bottom crop, up to where the wing on the left side of the image meets the post, thereby decreasing the importance of the post. I realize we don't always have compositional options with wildlife, and my, what a sharp, colorful image of a bird that most of us may never see! |
