Thank you Steve for both your encouragement and honesty. I am struggling with learning how to edit night time photos, and I agree as far as the foreground is concerned, it is good to have some showing. However, I have seen images of the milky way in which the foreground was more important than the night sky, and both work. |

I guess it resembles a lampshade to me, and I'm thinking, no this was done outside, LOL!!

Lovely image, and the rain in the background adds a lot. I agree with Tom on removal of the object in the background, left, but the lighting is incredible. I would have a tendency to lower the brightness of the light in the bottom half of her hair, just to keep the emphasis on the faces. Great shot! |

Amaryllis are such a regal blossom, and I like the color of this one. The lighting in the original is nice. I might have a tendency to select the background and either blur it or change it entirely, although this works too. I agree, topaz has many choices and many sliders. But, I use a couple of them fairly consistently, both details and noise removal. |

You are probably right Kathy, about the moon. Thanks for the suggestion. I still have a lot to learn about editing night time long exposures. |

Thanks Tom. I have a couple of bare cedar posts with branches left on to hang bird feeders on in the winter in my backyard. I have struggled to find anything I can use in the foreground, and at the last minute thought of these, and it worked somewhat. Learning new things is fun. |

Quite 'modern' in subject matter and presentation. I like the color. It sounds like this shoot was not easily accomplished. |

Thanks Don, and I'm glad you are having a good recovery. Sometimes unplanned events interfere with our time priorities. I hope to be back too. Wishing everyone a great summer season! Thanks, Richard and Don for the ideas for improvment! I agree. |

I like the original, and initially, my reaction was that this looks like an old, tired mountain. Perhaps the sky color contributed. I might have had a tendency to select just the exposed stone and added some clarity or perhaps details. However, I also like it just as presented. The central placement of the peak is fine for this image I think. I like the fact that the tops of the trees on the right are just at skyline level. Richard, it seems that your changes have brought more emphasis to the trees. Well-done. |

I have seen several pictures posted online of the poppies this year and they all are beautiful. How lucky to have access to this beauty! I don't think the moving parts detract from this lovely image. I agree with Paul, I would have a tendency to decrease the red or orange, but just a tad. Good dof. The color of the blue sky with the red/orange flowers is delightful. |

A good shot for HDR treatment and I like how you were able to lighten the darks but retain the clouds. I like your crop, and the snow on the mountains hardly shows up in the originals. Well-done! |
