Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
8 Feb 19 Comment I'm just dropping by your group, since Mark Southard visited my group this month, and I wanted to check his out! This image is so very special, I do hope you get a large print hung! I love the depth, subtle tonal changes, and colors in this image. Well-done. Feb 18th

18 Feb 19 Comment Thank you Mark Southard for visiting our group this month and making comments. This image stands out in more ways than one. Well-done, and isn't it great how the more we examine an image, the little changes we see that might make an improvement. Nice background colors, and well-chosen simplicity of an image to add an 'out of bounds' to. Putting more light onto the cactus and mountains help to keep the eye on the subject rather than the bright background. Feb 18th

28 Feb 19 Reply Thanks Tom. At -5 degrees, I may not have been outside either! Feb 22nd
28 Feb 19 Reply Kathy, thanks for the comment. Since the moon was completely cloudy overhead at the time that I would normally have taken the first (pre-eclipse) image, I was surprised to see it in full form when I finally did awaken! That probably contributed to my slowness in reacting that night because I had been looking forward to this event for some time, and capturing it with the camera. Feb 22nd
28 Feb 19 Reply Wasn't it amazing Deborah that the moon actually was reddish in color during the full eclipse. I was surprised, but then by the next time going out, (about a quarter of it showing), it had changed back to the usual moon color. Thanks for your comments.

28 Feb 19 Comment Wonderful lines, and tones Kathy. I agree with Tom that this makes a great black and white. All that is needed could be a person standing taking a look at the pictures at the bottom of the stairs, or maybe sitting on what looks like a half-wall? It might not improve the image at all, but might be something to try. Great shot and I like your treatment. No, I am still using the old free version of Nik. Feb 22nd
28 Feb 19 Comment I like your crop and treatment. I would not change anything about the image. Was this early morning or late afternoon? The workshop sounds like fun. I can imagine having quite a challenge shooting this many moving horses in low light. Your crop enabled the background to become just that, the background, instead of an item of interest also. 28 Feb 19 Comment Wow, beautiful colors, and the contrast between the twigs and sky is nice. I'm thinking about how you might be able to increase the details in the sky, but on the other hand, probably is not important? What a nice western view you have off your deck! I'm envious! Feb 11th
28 Feb 19 Comment A good action image for sure, and works well in b&w! Maybe some blow-out on the head, but great details in the wing feathers, and the rest. F-9 brought a good dof too! Looks like you caught it at the right 'moment'! Feb 11th
28 Feb 19 Reply I think the outside temp. was around 17 degrees here that night Steve.........not pleasant under any circumstance. What I failed to anticipate was the fact that the moon was just about directly overhead, and I did not have the accessory handy to put on the lens to prevent creeping! This required changing lenses (cameras) after getting set up. Also, I had accidentally fallen asleep for the first half of the eclipse (checked at the beginning and completely cloudy), so perhaps I was a little 'slower' in reacting to changes that night. Thanks for your comments! At -24, I would not have been outside either! Feb 11th
28 Feb 19 Reply Thanks for your support Sheila. Feb 11th
28 Feb 19 Comment What a sweet picture. I, also like the colored version better, although the black and white has merit too. The colored one gives a much warmer, cozy feeling. I agree with losing the blossoms, although it is ok either way. They don't add anything to the image for me, and the blossoms could be seen as a distraction. The empty gray background is fine because there is so much to look at with the animals. I like Steve's question as to how do you keep them settled long enough to take pictures? They must be pets? Nice composition. Feb 11th

46 Feb 19 Reply Thank you Mark Southard for dropping by and making a kind comment. I do have a much-enlarged image of moving water in similar fashion printed on canvas, 20X30in. or so, and I agree, this sort of image lends itself well to enlargements. Thanks for taking a look. Feb 18th
46 Feb 19 Reply Thanks Richard, I like your adjustment! Feb 18th
46 Feb 19 Reply Good job hand-holding! I like the grain and coloring of the image as well. Feb 18th
46 Feb 19 Comment You can make the engine and whatever is under the hood of a vehicle look amazing! Thanks again for showing us what is possible for 'under the hood'. Beautiful work! Feb 11th
46 Feb 19 Comment Now this shows that you have an eye that catches the unusual for sure! Also, it brought an immediate chuckle. There are several things you could try with this image, Trey's suggestion, or just use the face part, above the stainless mechanism, or like it is now..........they would all work. Thank you for the smiles I feel on the face each time I look at this picture! Feb 11th
46 Feb 19 Comment Thank you Richard for taking us to a place few people visit. Great lines, and I like your square crop and treatment. I'm curious, did you walk this utility corridor on your tour? Also, were you allowed to use a tripod? Very nice. Feb 11th
46 Feb 19 Comment Don, I would be surprised if the nursery would not want to purchase this image from you. It's lovely, and definitely gives the feeling of being in a greenhouse that is well-arranged. Well-done! Feb 11th
46 Feb 19 Reply Trey, what program did you use for your increase in coloring? Great colors!

50 Feb 19 Comment This image stands out to me due to the excellent lighting, details and textures. Near perfect job all around. I like the suggestion of straightening, but what a good capture and conversion to b&w. I'm sort of 'strolling' through some of the groups, and this image stands out. Feb 18th
