28 Sep 18 Comment I am looking at this image again, and after reading Kathy's note, took another look at cropping. You might consider cropping heavy on the left, to about half the boat length, then removing the remainder of the boat in ps. That would leave three main places the eye seeks.........sun on right, sun on left, and the sharpened part within the globe. My eye tells me there is almost too much to look at in this elongated image. Looks like fun being creative with a globe! Sep 23rd
28 Sep 18 Comment I agree with you Sheila, the color makes the image. I might have a tendency to extend the background in front of the image a bit, and entering a stem from the almost corner gives it a bit of a 'leaning forward' feeling, which an extended background might negate a bit. Beautiful colors and dof! Sep 23rd
28 Sep 18 Comment The textures and shades of color in the building are nice. My first inclination was to imagine what it would look like if you did a right crop and some straightening on that side. Looks like an interesting place to hang around for a while for sure. Sep 23rd
28 Sep 18 Reply LOL, yes, I am usually a bit 'blerry-eyed' when crawling out of a tent in the early mornings, too. I'm glad you like the image. Sep 23rd
28 Sep 18 Reply Good idea Sheila. Thanks! Sep 23rd
28 Sep 18 Reply Thanks for the suggestion Kathy, and yes that would work well too. Sep 23rd
28 Sep 18 Reply Thank you, Stephen, for your observations.

28 Sep 18 Comment An interesting experiment and it definitely broadened the horizon, using the sphere (within the sharpened circle). Sep 7th
28 Sep 18 Comment Wow, you 'made' this image! Well-done. I like the muted colors and surrounding textures. At first look, I thought I was looking at a sandstorm! You took what could easily have been seen as a cluttered mess of an image, and created an entirely different feeling! Sep 7th
28 Sep 18 Comment Wonderful reflections and I find my eye returning to that spot after looking around. Well-balanced composition too. Sep 7th
28 Sep 18 Reply Thanks for your positive comments Deborah. Sep 7th
28 Sep 18 Comment Good details, and sharpness, color, and textures. I like the muted background, and the color goes well with the brown of the bird. Well-done. Sep 7th

46 Sep 18 Comment LOL, Gary's 'cleaning up' or simplifying the image does make it look neater, but I don't usually take the time to do so much. I like this image, like the flow within the frame, colors, and the depth. Well-done. Sep 23rd
46 Sep 18 Comment I do have to say Trey, you shoot the cleanest under the hood mechanics I have ever seen! Just beautiful! Sep 7th
46 Sep 18 Reply LOL, I suspected as much, and yes, cell phone cameras I have found are fun, especially when you don't have another camera available. However, I do find myself taking phone pictures to send to the kids, on the phone. I assume you used the editing program on the iPhone? Sep 4th
46 Sep 18 Reply Thank you Richard. Yes, that is a duck out on the water. In a different image (done for the club), I brought the duck in closer to the shore and increased him/her in size just a tad, and it turned out ok, but I didn't do that in this image. Sep 4th
46 Sep 18 Comment Well-taken and nice dof in this image. The only suggestion I might give would be to try increasing the shadows a bit to give more of a sense of depth. You might also consider lightening the ceiling just a bit in order to give more of a resting spot for the eye. Well-taken and well-executed HDR image.

46 Sep 18 Comment To be quite honest Gary, if this were my image, I would probably delete it. However, your selective working to improve the sharpness and deepen the colors of the flitterfly is impressive. You're correct in saying that i-phones do take reasonable images, especially for the internet use. Sep 4th
46 Sep 18 Comment Wonderful dof, colors, and textures in this image! My only suggestion would be to vignette the corners a bit more. I like how my eye travels through this picture and you captured the details very well! Sep 3rd
46 Sep 18 Reply I like your work with this image Gary. Thanks for the suggestion. Sep 3rd
46 Sep 18 Reply Thanks Paul. The colors intensified for about 30 minutes after sunset. Sep 3rd
