Yes it is an excellent idea, however. I did try the portrait orientation, I have a few vertical shots, as matter of fact but I decided for the landscape orientation to give the image the full feeling of that place. I believe that the "portrait"orientation is good to show a better detailed fountain, but it lacks the feelings of the beauty of the whole place. Thank you Regine anyway. |

Regine thank you for your comments. Yes I think you are right and that the vertical orientation it might work well for the kind of this image, actually, it makes the image subject more slender and might more easily readable. But given the fact that the 16:9 format it will probably works well when viewing the image in a television screen as well. |

You are right Kurt. The fence condition it is a shame for a historical place like that, however we must add that (boss ?) fence it is a difficult one to keep green forever, and here we re speaking of about 5/6 centuries. The all villa is in shamble-like conditions and needs tons of money to be restored to its former glory. But still the gardens are unique and in beautiful conditions. If you like to visit there just let me know I'll be happy to help you.

Sylvia a like your lovely image of a Charleston street with the horse powered carriage, however. I think that the photographer on the side for me is a bit of a distraction, and for the composition point of view I believe that the addition it doesn't help much. I removed that and adjusted the over all light, contrast, color. You might do not like that, but that's OK too. Nice job. |

Marge, you are right and I warned viewers in my presentation that the images was hard to be understood. It is, indeed a difficult image to read particularly if you are not careful and attentive and do not have sharp eyes. However, the leading lines are there and they are pointing downward. Those waterfalls were called "giochi d'acqua," or put it simply water games. As you know well shrimp are swimming backwards, and that's what that fountain is, a backward fountain. I photographed that fountain from the bottom and believe me it locks much worse. The purpose of these groups was achieved with this long distance discussione. I'm not saying that this image is beautiful but surely it is a conversation starter. Beside let me tell you if ever have chance to be in Italy I would strongly suggest to everybody a visit of one of these villas, you will understand better what they are. In any case if you look again at is image think about you are looking and shrimp tail, and think, also, how delicious they are. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Art I'm jealous of your images. I've troubles to get the proper exposition with my Lumix, even in M mode. Your ICM images are always perfectly exposed. As soon as I come back to the States I'll try with an old Canon camera that doesn't have too much electronics, and see if its me or the camera. Nice shot as always. |

Indeed, Kurt, I find this image well done, perfectly exposed, great color chromatic scale, Nicely composed. That said I would be very happy if you could catch some close up images of the jockeys faces. With your 400mm lens you shouldn't have any problems do that. My computer, actually ny Color Efex 5 Pro didn't want open your file. I have no idea what's going on with these applications, I get a message that tells me that Nik can't read your file which I opened in PS without any trouble. Fine job done Kurt. |

Marge I agree with Art, your image file has an original sin, is too dark. I tried to correct the problem with LightRoom, that has a good feature to correct light in post production, however. As you know I'm one of strongly believers in perfect files rather than spending time in front the computer. I wish you had used a Neutral Density Filter, when you are in a light situation similar to yours it is a lifesaver. But over all you story is worth a million. And the image it still to be framed. |
