I think that the composition is a bit too busy. Those "sfumato" flowers in the backgraund I think are a bit of a distraction. The bees, at least one should be more "seen." In macro, as per my humble competence the main subject should be more visible, I mean the eyes, the mouth something more defined and interesting then the back of the animal. In this case. The flower looks really sharp though. |

In this image as well I'm not convinced of the flipping. I prefer the dog looking toward the water as if he's waiting for somebody. And also there could be some confusion with the whatever is written on the boat sides. What I would do, actually, go back to the original file and try to bring out more of the pale sun and give a little bit more life to the colors, and change the image mood to a little more happy one.

Art, thank you for the comments. Honestly I do not see the gaining for the composition, actually if you enlarge the images you see some strange changes in directions and composition, give to the fact of the change of the asymmetr. |

Art, your images are tempting me to explore with infrared photography. And first I would rename your image "The jumping frog." Maybe trying to give some free color to the boulder in the foreground. Fo the rest I do not believe that your composition need much more to ask. The colors are appropriated, and the image pretty sharp. Way to go with your photography exploration-experiments. |

Marge I like this shot a lot, I just made same small adjustments but composition, focus, and colors looked just fine. I like a lot the details of the wing in the foreground. Nice job Marge. |

Well I think that Kurtis has expressed my perplexity about this image. But even without being a jerk I would add that to get such a shot it is a matter of pure luck or, again, a long time of planning. But I still concerned about the handheld camera, with a 400mm lens, quite a bit of weight, without questions. My old hand no longer can do that. Nice capture no matter how it did happen. Sorry Regine. |
