Phyllis I think you found the nicest colonnade to photograph outside of Rome. Maybe Michelangelo stopped in Wisconsin on his travel. ;););) But I think you need to give him a little help with the composition. I did try to help and I eliminate the right side of the frame, since, as Art said, there is nothing there to help to image given the strong beauty of the colonnade. And I adjusted a little bit the Levels in PS. Nice image. |

Marge, I think that you have a very nice image and I think that with a few minor adjustments it would do well in a competition. You chose a very strong "rule-of-third" which it makes you image one with a good story to tell. With some adjustments, as Art suggested and as I tried some minor adjustments of the contact and exposition the image could benefit immensely, and look more interesting. If I can I would suggest to you, if you have the original file, to give more space above to horizon line, maybe reducing the size of the man standing. Good job Marge. |

Indeed I think that you Kerstin have a very creative mind, and here you tried to create an interesting story. I think, also that in this image you need to work more on the composition, as even Art suggested, and maybe I like to add you need to add another, or more, artistic element to the composition. I tried to modify your image a little eliminating the dark block on the upper right side of the frame. I believe is a sort of building (maybe a castle), and I do not believe that it does anything good to the image/composition, not only but I think that is distracting as it is. |

Art this kind of images are definitely very interesting and I hope you'll keep working on these images. In my opinion, in this particular image, there are some features that might need to be adjusted and/or modified. I believe that the composition in these images is the most important feature. Speaking of your first original image posted, whit the composition you chose seams to me a kind of modified "rule-of-third: which it could work well, however I think that the image to me looks a little bit cluttered. I know this is not possible now, change the angle of shooting, or I think you cold reduce the number of cloned image and leave the loop alone. Have you ever tried to use the 4K capabilities of the camera? It might be helpful and you do not have to spend the day cloning the images. I commend you effort in post producing his image, I do not have the guts to do that. Keep working. |

I think that Gerard did catch another winner. Great story and a "wow" impact. Technical elements are there and well presented. Sharp focus, great D.o.F. good colors. The composition as well "foreground interest and depth" I think works beautifully for this scene. I trimmed a little some of the frame to balance better the entire photograph and did a little touch up on Viveza. Excellent image. |

I think this is a lovely picture, with good impact and a nice telling story. Also the Technical elements are there e they are well presented. Sharp focus, no hard shadow , no grain (noise), and composition. This last, "fill-the-frame" is a very effective and you got that right. The color harmony looks to me as well. A well done job. |
