Hi Kerstin, thank you for your message. As you might know there are not written rules, as often is the case in photography, for "minimalist photography" consequently most of the rules are subject, generally, to personal taste. On previous comments, for this and other images, I explained what are my goals in this type of photography, and in more general terms what is my taste in photography. I truly respect your comments and taste for this image. But I must add that truly and honestly I do not like the solution you chose. To me it looks like one of those old B&W photograph where they used to color one of the elements in the image. Maybe a B&W version would put you and I on the same point of view, but I'm not sure. Talking of minimalism, there are 3 colors in the original image, you changed a band of green to a flat band of grey, so the colors are now 4, not too much for minimalism. And by the way, no bragging here, I spend time and money entering in international salons, 2-star for PIDC, 2 for PIDM, 2 for TD, a BPSA portfolio are supporting most of my choices in photography. Have a nice weekend. |

Hi Peter, Absolutely no hurt feeling. I'm very happy to discuss my images with the group, that's I think what a study group should do. I just wanted only reinforce my position of a "lone wolf" outside of the pack of Eastern Asia "Flora and Fauna." Please, do not be offended, keep comment and critique my images. Thank you. |

Thanks Peter, but I do not want to be like the others. Sorry. I'm telling you this: I was born and raised in the birthplace of Renaissance, Tuscany and Umbria. I have the art sense of beauty embedded in my genes. You know that in the period stretching from 12th to the 16th centuries artists depicted, carved, sculpted, and more, hundreds of the same scenes of nativities, crucifixions, saints large and small but no ones looks like the other. Right? The rose should be smaller? Yes you are right It probably should, but even as it is I think is not bad. It probably isn't perfect, although as you know there are no written rules in regard. Thank you, again. For taking time to comment. |

It is always a great shot from this angle, and well composed. I opened this file and tried to adjust the sky with Color Efex and its Detail extractor but the image I his is always too saturated. Nice photo Marge. |

Good shots Kerstin, even it that's early morning. I would only remove the white frame that in my opinion to distracting, and reduce the top sky. That's it. |

Art, as somebody suggested the sky is a bit too blue. I even tried to lighten the whole image but the sky didn't badge. Go back to LR and try to do that with Viveza. It might work. Nice image. |

Nice shot. Those long shadow and the haze created buy the geysers give a very dramatic feeling to the image. Masterly done. |
