You need to try different subjects with a polarizer and without. Compare the difference with the polarizer all colors will be better. All subjects reflect light off the surface that a polarizer will remove this allows the colors to be better. I have a good polarizer on all my lens. They must be good ones. |

Happy to have you in our group, Denise! I checked out your work in the other group you are in. Nice work. The orange really pops with nice soft lighting. Sharp where it needs to be sharp. Great out of focus background. I feel it needs to be cropped some to give the flower about 80% of the space inside the frame. Great image. |

These rose hips were on a shrub rose which usually have brighter red fruit and less insect problems than hybrid roses. I really have no secrets. I'm old school. I learned photography using slide film with no post processing. Must get it right in the camera. I always use a tripod most important piece of equipment I have. Next a polarizer does more than improve skies especially shinny surfaces on plant parts. I do almost no cropping in post. I always use a reflector as a secondary light on the shaded side. I do all my shots with a 12-megapixel camera and a great lens.
In this image I used some vignette to darken the edges. |

I love this image; large flowers are not easy to photograph. Nice background and nice soft light on the flower. This would be a great subject to shoot more images maybe 25 or 30 in a stack to get more detail in the stamens. The stamens usually have a violet color to them and have a very interesting pattern when their detail can be seen. Nice image. Like the border line. |

Yes, this is woodsorrel a common weed in our area also called oxalis. I love the patterns reminds me of a bunch of pinwheels. Nice capture with the dew drops which add interest to the image. Like the blue cast against the green. Fun to study this one. |

A great image with great lighting. Your white reflector, the secondary light source, placed opposite the main light give the flower nice depth to the image. Nice sharp image. The background really makes the flower stand out. Nice impact. |
