Nice detail in the sunflower overall. I too like the close-up approach when doing sunflowers. Sometimes the back side makes a great shot also. The four petals on the lower right in this position, rolled in over the center, to my eye are a slight distraction. I like the sunflower rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise.
I find using two soft boxes tend to cause the subject to appear flat. I like to use one light source with a reflector as the secondary light source. I do this inside with a light box and also outside when the overcast sun is the light source. This results in a main light source with a secondary light source with less intensity. This I find gives the flower much more depth in appearance. I made the rotation and cropped a little off the background. Nice background. 		Feb 17th

65 Feb 24 Comment Love the amaryllis this time of year. Great to watch them grow this time of year when not much is happening. Great subjects to photograph.
Nice detail in the flowers. I think the reds are good, not blown out which is easy to do. What type of light did you add to the centers? To my eye the image looks somewhat flat. To my eye the background is great but a little bright. Not sure I care for the bud; it is kind of a distraction. 		Feb 11th
