Nice composition, Judy. Very sharp and much of interest here. I am not sure I understand your purpose in choosing to show part of the image in b&w. Also, there is something amiss in the upper rh corner (perhaps a reflection?. |

I very much like your composition, Bill. For me, I like the context you have chosen as background. Also, I like the action conveyed by the birds, I would not change anything.
re Dorinda's comment, it may seem a question of how much expansion the masked birds can handle and still maintaintain their integrety. I have had problems masking bird feathers (like hair) and increasing the magnification without showing unmasked areas. |

This image was created using the LAB color mode. I was inspired to try this mode through the work of Harold Davis (check him out on the internet).
1. Convert the image to the LAB color space by choosing image, mode, LAB color in Photoshop
2. In channels, select only "L" (lightness) channel
3, choose Image, Adjustments, Invert, to change whites to blacks
4. In the channels panel, make sure all the channels are open, then
Image, mode, RGB

Very nicely done, Walter. Clear, crisp and an exceptionally successful in capturing his expression. I hope you are providing a copy for him. The lighting is beautiful save some nearly blown out areas on the left side and front that might be toned done some to avoid distraction. |

I love old, broken down images like this one! Perhaps it's because I am kind of old and broken down, as well. I particularly like the setting you have enhanced where this old barn rests. The sky is beautifully done also. |
