The "defects" are what I wanted to show. They are what I typically see in leaves in December around here. However, I note that both you and Judy disliked them. |

I have competition for my attention in this picture, as others seem to have: namely, the path and the distant figure on it and the scene beyond the line of trees in front of us. I liked the latter and it was where my attention first was drawn by its brightness and its prominence in the picture. I liked the converging diagonals Judy mentioned except that the convergence is empty. |

I agree with Tom's evalution. This is a very lovely landscape with the colorful flotsam in the foreground capturing my attention. The distorted colors from the fire are the main story here, but the picture is striking on its own. |

I like the image - the background makes it, in my view. I like Tom's idea of adding a heavy white frame to emphasize the white feather on the darker background. |
