I certainly considered that, but it changes the image from the isolation to a more focused subject. I wanted to emphasize the isolation aspect of the subject. I understand the attractiveness of the more focused subject and find it an attractive alternative. Thanks for reminding me of it! |

This is a beautiful image that reflects the hard work and the skill that you put into it. Hi five on that! I agree with Dorinda's comment regarding the red on the breast. It is so hard to get that right, particularly in the presence of other colors. Nevertheless, I wouldn't touch them. I would go with what you have, which is a great great photograph! |

Quite nice composition. I agree with Judy that the image would benefit from some cropping of the foreground shrubs and cutting back on the sharpening. |

Pretty image, Robert. The stamen and the anthers to it's right are nice and sharp. For me, however, all the lines in the image look to the right, away from the center of the flower -- to the degree that the right hand side of the picture adds little to the whole. |

I love the glow effect from the backlighting. A very nice overall imact. Judy's focus on the top three blossoms makes a lot of sense to me giving the shot a bit more of a "subject" orientation rather than my eye wondering around the image. Reducing the exposure slightly would brighten the colors a bit. |

I particularly like Dorinda's note regarding the dark background as compared to the usual sky that often accompanies the in flight shots. The image is a bit blurred, but I don't know what might be done -- faster shutter speed with higher ISO maybe. I depends how your camera would handle the high ISO. Your ISO of 400 is certainly not too high surely. |

Nice shot, Dorinda. I admire an eye that can pick this interesting image out of the original scene presented to you. I agee with others that covering the brightness in the lower rh corner would helpful to tone down. Perhaps by cloning in some of the blurred reflection surrounding the area? |

Thank you, Leonid. I think your crop of some junk on the right hand side improves the picture, for sure. |
