Thanks for your comments. I had relied on the stark difference in the subject and the background to avoid the distraction: I failed for some, it seems. I will probably leave the background as is both to provide context and to balance the somewhat right leaning image. |

I agree with Jessica concerning retaining the great colors in your image. The color also provides the depth that you weakened with the b&w. |

I love a mystery and this one really has it. If that was your intention, you can see from the above discussion, you succeeded spectacularly! The feet are a problem as the yellow socks are an important part of the story. Perhaps cropping enough to leave only the top of the left shoe. Cloning out the car is a good idea, too. |

I like these images that pose a mystery. The eye was my clue until I began to see the entire image which is well camouflaged. I think Judy's cropping is an improvement. I like the deep greens of the moss which adds some life to the shot, so I prefer your color version. The fence is a distraction and downplaying it is beneficial. |

This is a great composition, Tom! The red boy in the foreground provides a corner of a triangle that leads my eye to make a jump to the matching red marker aboard the judging boat and then down the line of sails. I find attractive too the framing of the sails by the dark clouds in the sky. I wouldn't change anything. |

Nice compositon, Dorinda. I like the solitary tree with the mountain directing the eye to it's solitude. The image would have benefited from a sharper focus on the tree and the surrounding grasses. Overall, a very nice photograph. |
