This is really a wonderful photograph, Leonid. But the brightest of the beams cuts out a chunk of the beautiful landscape, yet adds to the drama of the scene. I can't make up my mind about whether I prefer it in or out. Dorinda's suggested crop is helpful, I think. |

Lightening the center of the fern diminishes the cone-like appearance that Robert was seeking and I would leave it as Robert presented it. Dorinda's more drastic background reduction improves the image in my view. The image has more depth when placed with the darkened background. |

Beautiful image: sharply focused and the colors are wonderful! I like the background as part of the story and not distracting except perhaps, slightly so, viewed in the car's windows. I wouldn't change anything. |

I prefer Robert's crop of the image. In my view, the original has too much in it. I disagree that the submission is "off the reservation". I find the comments of the Group 30 members an essential part of learning to be better photographers and as such play that role in any stage of image development. |

I like this image as you have interpreted it in b&w and the filters. The mountainous background is important part of the composition, in my view. The emphasis on the natural setting would be strengthened by removing the electrical structure on the left side, as Robert suggests. |
