Great question, Tom. One I ask myself as I reviewed the photo and the micro data. The short answer is, I honestly don't remember why. I think it must've been because the camera was set up for another shot and I neglected to change it when I took this one. I don't mind the blurring on top of the pilings from the water passing over them. Indeed, more blurring there would have been better. |

Excellent shot, Tom. I like the boat image and especially the clouds. but they seem to be competing for top billing. I agree with Judy that the clouds are the more attractive subject and your version with the darker lower part does that. In my view, the day marker adds context to the whole and I would leave it in. |

Excellent capture, Leonid! I like Judy's suggested wall straightening and crop as there seem to be no sunbeams emitting from that upper horizontal panel. I also like the dreamy cast to the image particularly in contrast to the sharp focus on the plant, |

Oh, Jessica, if you have other opportunities like this one, your workshop participants will be pleased! This image to me, is a magnificent picture frame showing . . . .what? It begs for a compilation, providing the viewer with something very interesting to view and fill th "hole" in the center of the frame. Like Dorinda, I would love to see what you do with this image. |

Great image, Judy. All the more so because of your effort to capture it! It is well presented on the diagonal. Since it is all about color swatches, I agree with Robert's suggested increasing of the contrast and ramping up the saturation. |

This is a competition action shot in my view. The action is beautifully captured with the wind swept manes and dust at the feet. Mountain backdrop and focus, perfect. Outstanding work, Dorinda. |

To me, there is a lot to like in this photograph. I like the excitement of all the neon and the skyline of large buildings and construction cranes. The rest adds little. There is a nice capture in the town {without the long lead-in asphalt) plus the building on the horizon immediately in back of the town and a beautiful blue sky, amounting to about 1/3 of he current frame. Then fine tuning the neon.

Hmmm I don't understand that either. The near post does not look blurred on my monitor, but not as sharp as it might be. Could that happen because the subject is inside the dof? |
