Your image conveys a very soothing feeling to me. The colors and texture do it. I like Bob's suggested crop as your original left me wondering whether the in focus and out of focus parts seemed to be an effort to concentrate my attention and I couldn't figure out why. |

I agree with the comments above and have none to add. Nice job capturing an interesting image. |

Nice helpful thoughts, Tom. But, this was taken from a passing automobile, so, no second chances here! Also, I thought of this picture as a journalistic exercise. This was their (the protester's) statement, not mine |

Thanks for you thoughts, Robert. What bothers me about this image is the long distance between the heads of the statue and the crowd beneath it. I thought about the building and believe that it helps break the distance somewhat. As you say, it is a journalistic photograph. |

This image nicely conveys the speed and power of the automobile it is riding. Nice sharp detail. The diagonal hood line (?) is such an important part of this image, the different angle of the hood ornament to it generates mild discomfort for me. I don't have any ready ideas as to how to assuage that feeling, however. |

The cheerful flower pot and its splash of red on the RH side of the walkway make this a very nice image for my eyes. The bench position was not a factor for me. I think you made the right choices re the cloning and post processing too. Great job with this, Dorinda. |

I love the tension and excitement captured in this image. I could not get my eyes off of he lead cyclist's face. So, what is the rest of the image adding? I would suggest cropping all but the lead rider's body above the handle bars back through the third rider to provide context. Then, if the shadowed area under the helmet and above the bridge of his nose could be lightened to show detail of his eyes, it would be an even more effective photograph.
Tom, you spend some time in the heavy traffic of boat and bicycle races - be careful out there! |
