Thanks to you all in pointing the way for this all-to-inclusive image to be converted to an interesting one. Still not a show stopper, but one that captured the moment and brought me some pleasure. Isn't that what it's all about? |

In my mind, this is someone else's art. As such, it really doesn't say anything to me. For Robert and Dorinda's interpretation to gain prominence, the background, or whatever it is that is to be held up in contrast to the sculpture needs to be greatly enhanced to command the viewer's attention. |

I love the contrast here with the blossoms, the light and the branch at the bottom of the frame. Nice composition. The focus seems to be slightly in front of the light. It would be better to my eye to have the light in focus as well as the blossoms in the same plane. The out of focus ones at the top don't bother me so much. The light seems to me to be the subject here rather than the "blossoms." |

Good work, Judy! I love the complexity and the simplicity of the image. I also think that the turning and conversion to b&w was the right call. However, my eye goes immediately to the chair back (and perhaps reflected clouds) which detracts slightly from the geometric theme. |

Thank you all for your comments. Judy, your crop and other adjustments are definitely beneficial. Perhaps being a child of the 40s and 50s, it is hard for me to throw anything away! |

Interesting action shot. For me, the two players are insufficiently isolated. I think the image might be improved by reducing the background detail more. A vignette or masking and applying a blur or burning might work. |

Excellent action wildlife shot, Tom! Catching that moment requires some real patience, for sure, but worth it. The neck feathers are particularly striking. Noise reduction carries with it some reduction in sharpness, I guess. Sometimes masking can prevent effecting the parts one wishes to preserve. |

Dorinda, you and Robert have done an excellent job of producing a great mono image. I also like Judy's suggested change in the vase -- a factor that was not a distraction to me in the color version, but was so in the b&w. Robert's tonal changes softened the harshness of the petals that came with the b&w and were not evident in the color version. But, I am with Jessica on this one. The colors are wonderful! |
