This is a nice image, Robert. The image conveys action and interest and was cleverly composed. I like Julie's rendition of it by cloning out one of the figures on the left. I feel the need to have the rocks included to add context, but the figures are distorted and one of them is enough. |

A very nice and very interesting image. I like the reverse version better, but I don't really know why. It's not as though it's more natural insomuch as nature produce the original version. I might have liked a little more detail in the frond. |

I thinkJessicais dead on here. The DOF is too narrow to have much of the flower infocus, hand held. The image would be greatly enhanced with more of the petals (?) in focus. I would definitely go at this shot with a tripod, this shot, and at least 2 others focused on the petals immediately in the backgroung, leaving the petals in the rear for "depth." Then stacking with Photoshop or other software. Too late for this one , but next one. |

Very nice, Jessica! I agree with the others that the urchin needs prominence in the composition. You should easily accomplish this by masking and increasing the brightness in Photoshop. I would love to see the result! PS. The tight focus on the leaves really makes the photo for me.

Perhaps I tried to accomplish too much with this image. I tried Dorinda's suggestion of adding more depth and color to the deck and the ships. But it seem to detract from the bench which is where our eyes seem to go in this picture before turning to the boats. I tried to emphasize the bench by desaturating the rest of the image. It serves the purpose of emphasizing the bench, for sure . I still am not sure which I like better. |
